What makes a selfie animate well
A selfie is already close to what the model wants — a big, clear face — but a few habits make a real difference:
- Hold the phone a little further away, or use the main lens: very close front-camera shots stretch the nose, and the clip keeps the distortion.
- Face the light: a window in front of you, not behind you.
- Leave room above the head and around the shoulders so the move has space in the 9:16 frame.
- Skip heavy beauty filters: the model reads the filter as your face and may animate its artifacts.
- In mirror selfies, keep the phone away from your face; a phone covering the mouth stays there in the video.
